The Sierra Leone International Ship Registry has issued a Circular outlining the detention policy of the Administration which comes in force on April 21st, 2012.

This Circular aims to remind attending Surveyors regarding the correct completion of International Load Line Certificate. After a review of the submitted Certificates it is found that the section of how a vessel is assigned the freeboard marks it is sometimes incorrectly completed by attending Surveyors.

The new Chapter 8 of MARPOL 73/78 ANNEX I regarding the prevention of pollution during transfer of oil cargo between oil tankers at sea comes in force this year which includes new regulations 40, 41 & 42.
